The following are the rewarding advantages and the main
reasons why you should consider a career in maritime industry.
The first one would be the earning potential. Here in the
Philippines, or let say in your baranggay, the ones that we call
"seamen" sometimes are the ones who have big house, luxury car, and a
lot of gadgets. Why is that? Because it's no secret that "seamen"
earn a good amount of money, giving him/her the luxury of buying almost
everything. Well not to be mistaken, though I'm not talking of millions of
pesos here, but maybe when a seaman works for consecutive years, it is
possible.
The next would be the overwhelming benefits and incentives.
Maritime services provide comprehensive medical and dental health benefits.
Along with that, if you are working for about 3 months, you will receive
bonuses, in cash or in kinds. To compare these benefits to other kind of
profession, I might say that it will surpass the benefit others provide if not
doubling it. Sarcastic? Well, I'm giving you the chance to figure it out.
Then, the luxury to travel to different nations and
experience their culture for free! Well, during the trip, you are entitled to
do your job with the highest degree of professionalism as possible, BUT, of
course you'll have a chance to have a day off, or maybe a week off! Yes, it
will not be work, work, and work every day of the week and every week of the
month! The luxury of having a week or two of vacation per month is possible and
surely will happen.
The things that I've said are just a hint of what experience
will await for those who want to seek maritime careers. If that don't make you
eager to pursue a career in the maritime industry, then I don't know what to
make you change your mind anymore. :)
